Shaggy and Sting was a short while ago announced as the Grammy winner for Best Reggae Album at the 61th Grammy Awards for their collaborative album 44/876. The Other nominees that contended for the title this year are Ziggy Marley, Etana, Protoje, and Black Uhuru.
Shaggy in his acceptance speech, thanked the other nominees and had special big up for Etana who created history being the first female to be nominated for a Reggae Grammy since 1997.
The win marks Sting’s first Reggae Grammy, and Shaggy’s second win. In 1996, Shaggy won the Reggae Grammy for his album Bombastic.
